Community Driven

Vogelmorn Cafe is a hybrid model made up of staff, tenants and volunteers and is reliant on community buy-in.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Here’s how we are working towards our zero-waste and sustainability goals:

Opting for Reusables

  • We do not use single-use cups, lids, or straws.

  • Reusable cups are available for takeaways.

Sustainable Suppliers

  • Rich Coffee (Berhampore) delivers our beans in reusable tins.

  • Our dairy milk is delivered in glass bottles, which are picked up weekly and reused.

Reducing Food Waste

  • Used coffee grounds are available to the community for use in gardens or as a body scrub.

  • Food scraps are composted in the Vogelmorn Compost.

  • Leftover cafe food is placed in the Vogelmorn Pātaka Kai.
