Issey Jean is a Berlin-based singer-songwriter from Pōneke, crafting evocative music that blends powerful melodies with honest reflections on life. Her debut album Daisy Fever is a 12-track, homegrown project recorded in her family home alongside her father (producer) and brother (drummer), resulting in a moody collection of songs with a feverish edge, pulsing with intensity, compassion, and emotional depth.
Inspired by artists such as PJ Harvey, Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, Led Zeppelin, and Melanie, Issey’s songwriting centres on lyrical storytelling and compelling melodies. With a background in acting, she brings a strong visual sensibility and commanding stage presence to her performances—an essential part of her artistic expression.
Issey returns home to celebrate the release of Daisy Fever with a special album launch at Vogelmorn Upstairs. She’ll perform with her New Zealand band featuring Issey Jean and Mikey Bennett on guitars, Olivia Campion on drums, and Audrey May on bass. Support comes from alternative art-rockers, Salt —promising a great Saturday night of live music.
