Kids’ Election

Kids Speak Up and Grown-Ups Listen!

What would happen if tamariki had the power to vote? With New Zealand’s 2026 General Election fast approaching, Barbarian is remounting their interactive experience the Kids’ Election for one day only!

Designed especially for kids, this free pop-up polling booth invites children into a playful, imaginative world where democracy comes to life.  Inside this vibrant, interactive space, children can step into the role of decision-makers. They can cast their votes, create their own protest placards, and dress up as politicians, suffragettes, activists, or anything they want to be.

The Kids’ Election sparks curiosity, creativity and conversation about democracy, empowering young people to explore how their voices can shape the world around them.
