All the way from Argentina, The Wellington Puppetry Festival is delighted to welcome a magical and remarkable marionette artist: Rosana López.
With her roots in the Andes of Mendoza, Rosana brings with her a rich cultural heritage, woven into every thread of her marionette work. Her art transcends borders, offering not only string puppets but also a profound connection to place, memory, and identity.
The work she will be sharing with us is ‘Enderas Masugui’ (The magic wheel of time), a magical journey in puppetry designed for ALL AGES.

About the Company:
Rosanna is a visual artist, puppeteer, and playwright who specializes in staging theatre
productions with string puppets. Trained by masters from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India,
England, and Spain, she has been directing her company El Alma en un Hilo for the past 12
years. She creates puppets and set designs for her own productions as well as for other
companies. She has led string puppet workshops in Latin America and has represented her
country at renowned international festivals in the Americas and Asia. As an artist As a
puppeteer with a strong Latin American identity, her perspective is both vital and timely.
Rosana’s artistic vision offers a powerful counterpoint to dominant narratives in the global
puppetry scene.
